In 2004, the Antelope Butte Ski Area closed after 44 years of operations. The community was devastated.

In 2011, the Antelope Butte Foundation formed to revitalize the ski area and create a

centerpiece of mountain recreation in Northern Wyoming.

Aquire the Assets

In 2016, the Antelope Butte Foundation secured the assets including the lodge, lifts, garage, and maintenance shop.

Open for Business

Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area opened with limited winter operations in 2018 and full lift service in 2019. In 2019, Antelope Butte received a 5-year, year-round Forest Service Operating Permit. Antelope Butte also started a youth outreach program in 2018 that is growing every year!

The Lodge

The Antelope Butte Foundation is wrapping up the final fundraising for the lodge. The complete 11,400 square foot lodge serves as the headquarters and hub of all activity at Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area. The lodge houses a restaurant, shop, offices, and guest services.
